Dehydration generally occurs when a person happens to loose more fluids than he or she takes in. Dehydration isn't a serious problem. It can happen to anyone- teens, babies or young children. Our body contains nearly two thirds of water. If a person gets dehydrated the amount of water in his or her body falls below the level needed for normal body function. If a person loses larger amounts of water then he can feel quite sick. A person may face dehydration problem due to gastrointestinal illness or while playing sports etc.
Teens face gastrointestinal problems which lead to vomiting and diarrhea. This can cause dehydration problem. A person can face dehydration problem while playing sports. It's rare to reach a level of even moderate dehydration during sports or other normal outdoor activity. But if you don't take in fluids you may face dehydration problem. Dieting can sap a person's water reserves as well. Some of the symptoms of dehydration include: feeling dizzy and lightheaded, having a dry or sticky mouth and producing less urine and darker urine. You can prevent dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids during hot, dry and windy days. Dehydration problem can be resolved by drinking lot of fluids. But if you still feel dizzy every time you stand up, it is better you visit a doctor. Doctor would analyze you and enable to drink more fluids.
